Summer Splash Grades 1-5
Summer SPLASH is a summer enrichment program for incoming students in grades K-5. We offer fun learning opportunities grounded in the skills and topics within our curriculum frameworks aligned to the grade level(s) audience for each course. The theme of our Summer SPLASH program is STEM, Play, Literacy, Arts, Social-emotional, and Health, which are also grounded in our guiding principles of well-being, relationships, and learning.
Policies and Procedures
Summer SPLASH is a summer enrichment program offered through the Middleborough Public Schools. As such, Summer SPLASH students are expected to adhere to the expectations for student behavior, dress, and participation outlined in the student handbook for kindergarten through fifth grade.

For arrival and dismissal, please enter the property from the rear driveway, which is located directly across the street from Hannafords Plaza on Route 28 (East Grove Street).

Arrival at HBB

All vehicles will enter and exit from the rear driveway on Route 28.

Students must remain in their car until a staff member instructs the child to leave the car to walk into the gym at 9:30 AM. Look for the 2 orange cones to pull between.
Dismissal at HBB

All vehicles will enter and exit from the rear driveway on Route 28.

All vehicles will park in the rear of the gym to pick up their child. There will be a tented area to sign out your student.

Students will only be dismissed to the parent/guardian listed on the program registration form.

Parents/guardians should be prepared to show identification upon picking up their child(ren).

Dismissal begins at 11:15AM and ends at 11:30AM.
Program Schedule
Summer SPLASH 2024 is a two-week program that runs Mondays through Thursdays from
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.
Week 1: July 8-11
Week 2: July 15-18
Attendance
Attendance will be taken each morning. It is important that Summer SPLASH has up-to-date information for the safety of all students who have registered for the camp. If a student will not be attending camp on any given day, please call the Burkland school at (508) 946-2040 or rhoward@middleboro.k12.ma.us and ask for Rachel Howard, Program Coordinator.
Camp Preparation
Please send your student to camp with a small cinch bag or backpack containing the following in case of outdoor classes and events:

Registration Dates
May 12, 2024 - June 7, 2024
Enrollment is only for incoming Middleboro students at the Mary K. Goode and Burkland schools. Registration will be sent home via the Tuesday folder and is available in the main offices of HBB, MKG, and MECC.
Summer Splash Registration Form
Deadline
Registration for the program is through a lottery system that will be drawn at the close of the school day on June 7, 2024. Late registration will NOT be accepted. Registration officially closes at 3:30PM on June 7.
Submitting Registration
All registration should be submitted along with payment by Friday, June 7, 2024. Please complete the registration form (including parent/guardian signature) and send full payment in an envelope labeled SUMMER SPLASH to the school. Please note that a child is not fully registered until payment is received. Payment must be made in the form of a bank check or money order. NO personal checks or cash will be accepted. Summer Splash must have complete contact and emergency information, including parent/guardian signatures, in order for each student to participate in the program. Incomplete registration forms will not be accepted and will be returned. Enrollment confirmation will be sent home no later than Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Summer Splash reserves the right to cancel or combine classes for any reason. If a class is canceled, you will be notified and your payment will be returned.
Payment
Payments can be made by bank check or money order made payable to Middleboro Public Schools. All bank checks and money orders must be signed. Please write your student’s name in the memo line and submit it in an envelope with your registration form addressed to Summer Splash. All classes must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Scholarship
Summer Splash offers financial support to eligible families. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to be considered for financial aid. Submit a check only if you plan to enroll your student in classes, even if financial aid is not granted. If financial aid is granted, your payment will be refunded.
Refunds
No refunds will be given after the last day of the registration period unless a class is canceled.
Class Offerings for Summer Splash 2024
We are proud to announce the selection of this year’s Summer Splash program. Below is a list of offerings. The programs will start at 9:30 AM and run until 11:30 AM. Families must pick up students in the rear of the Henry B. Burkland School by 11:30 AM.
The cost of each week is $50 per student. A limited number of scholarships are available for those who need them. Please check the box on the registration form for scholarship consideration. Please make bank checks or money orders payable to “Middleborough Public Schools.”
