  • Vicki Miles High School Math Teacher named a semi-finalist for Massachusetts Teacher of the Year

    The Middleborough Public Schools would like to congratulate Vicki Miles for being named a semi-finalist for the Massachusetts Teacher of the Year. Vicki has been with the Middleborough School district for ten years and currently also serves as the department head for the math department at Middleborough High School.

  • Memorial Early Childhood Center Teacher Saves Kindergarten Student’s Life by Performing Heimlich Maneuver

    Members of the Middleborough Public School Administration recognized Mrs. Elizabeth Gunnison with a Certificate of Recognition and flowers for her heroic actions assisting a Kindergarten child in distress by performing the Heimlich maneuver.

  • Tiered Focused Monitoring Review of the Middleborough Public Schools

    During the week of February 22, 2021 the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Public School Monitoring (PSM) will conduct a Tiered Focused Monitoring Review of the Middleborough Public Schools. The Office of Public School Monitoring visits each district and charter school every three years to monitor compliance with federal and state special education and civil rights regulations.

  • Preschool Lottery Registration Now Open!

    Our preschool program combines a mix of student-led, play-based, and teacher-directed lessons and activities. A typical session in preschool includes an arrival routine, a daily meeting, multiple centers, bathroom and snack breaks, at least one whole group activity, and a dismissal routine. As weather permits, there is also outdoor time. Opportunities to move and utilize both fine and gross motor skills abound throughout each session.

    Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act ("FFCRA"), a governmental employer is required to provide Emergency Paid Sick Leave ("EPSL") and to provide leave based on a new qualified reason for Family and Medical Leave for the care of children when school or day care closes or is unavailable ("EFML"). FFCRA requirements are in place from April 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.

  • Gas & Electric Meter Replacement Interruption

    By way of explanation, they are currently "changing out" electric meters at every residence in Middleborough. These "smart meter" replacement installations will interrupt your internet service momentarily and may require you to "reboot" the service in your home. Please see the attached message from the G&E which contains a more detailed explanation.

    The Middleborough Public Schools School Committee has approved this academic calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. The start dates for K and Pre-K will be confirmed in the next week. This is the calendar as of August 20, 2020.

  • District Reopening Plan for September 2020

    Our plan contains three models for learning which includes a full in-person model for our highest priority students, a hybrid model where students will be divided into two cohorts who’ll be both in school and out of school and, finally, a fully remote “Online Learning Academy” model for those families who choose that as an option.
