My name is Katie Iveson and I am the music and computer teacher at the Memorial Early Childhood Center. I have been teaching music in the Middleboro Elementary Schools since 2003 at the MECC, HBB and MKG. I have also had the pleasure of teaching at two different pre-schools, a summer camp and a resedential school for students with various learning disabilities.
My love of music started very young, as one of my first memories is hearing my mother sing lullabies and recite nursery rhymes. As I grew up, I joined lots of musical activities, including church choir, marching band, musical plays and many private lessons in guitar, keyboard, trumpet and voice. When I decided to make music education my career, I went to Anna Maria College and Bridgewater State University, where I learned how to be a teacher. Later, I continued my education and added a teaching license in Instructional Technology. Currently I teach Pre-K and K music at the MECC and Introduction to Computer Technology classes to Kindergarten.
As you can see, I enjoy being a life -long learner! Moreover, I love working with children and being part of the joy they bring to my classroom each and every day!
I look forward to meeting all of your smiling faces, as we have a fun-filled year of singing, dancing, and playing instruments during music. I'm also eager to begin teaching you how to do many new things on the computer. Best of luck for a great year of Pre- K or Kindergarten!
Love Mrs. Iveson
