Middleborough High School Students Win Two 2026 New England Student Production Awards

Middleborough High School Students Win Two 2026 New England Student Production Awards
Updated

Students from Middleborough High School continue to shine on the regional stage, earning two prestigious New England Student Production Awards (SPAs) along with three honorable mentions in the 2026 competition.

The awards highlight the exceptional work being produced by students in the school’s media and production programs, recognizing their creativity, storytelling, and technical skills across multiple categories.

Among this year’s winners, Dani Tawa received a Student Production Award in the Long Form Nonfiction category for a documentary focusing on STW’s production of Hadestown: Teen Edition. The project captured the artistry and effort behind the student theatre production, showcasing both the performers and the creative process behind the scenes.

Aaron Davis also brought home a Student Production Award, winning in the Photographer category for his dynamic coverage of MHS Football 2025, demonstrating strong visual storytelling through sports photography.

In addition to the two SPA wins, Middleborough students earned three honorable mentions:

  • Kennedy Frawley, Autumn Jean-Francois, Isaiah Colp, Shahana Naz, and Shawn Miller received the program’s first-ever honorable mention in the Newscast category for their work on MET News.
  • Josh Horsman earned an honorable mention in the Editing category for his piece, “2025 Senior Walk.”
  • Saniah Auguste and Tanisha Raheel received an honorable mention in the Public Service Announcement category for their PSA titled “The Apple.”

These recognitions add to a remarkable record for the Middleborough media program. Over the past 11 years, students have earned 61 New England SPA nominations and 17 wins, an impressive achievement considering how competitive the awards are across the region.

While the program has enjoyed consistent success, each award remains a significant accomplishment.

“Middleborough’s success should not dilute just how difficult it is for a school to earn even one crystal pillar win,” Adam Pelletier the MHS Video Production Teacher noted. “We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they’ve achieved.”

The continued recognition reflects the dedication of students, the strength of the program, and the support of the broader school community.

Excellence lives here at MHS!
