Parents Right to Know
The federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires districts to annually notify parents/guardians of students who attend Title I schools that they may request information regarding certain professional qualifications of the student's classroom teacher(s):
- Whether your child's teacher is licensed in the grade levels and subject areas they teach
- Whether your child's teacher is teaching under an emergency license or waiver
- The college degree and major of your child's teacher
- Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications
In Middleborough, the MECC, HBB. MKG and Nichols receive Title I funds. All classroom teachers in the Middleborough Public Schools, including our Title I Schools, have Massachusetts teaching licenses and certification appropriate to their grade level and teaching assignment, and are highly qualified according to federal standards for teacher quality.
