• MPS Extended Learning

As directed by the Governor of Massachusetts, all public schools will be closed until Monday, April 6th. In response to this, the Middleborough Public Schools has developed an extended learning plan so we may continue to foster a culture of excellence for all students and families in our community. It is important to note that the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has stated that there is no expectation of online learning or for the provision of educational services during this period. These are considered non-school days. We are not allowed to provide any digital or remote learning opportunities to replace in-person teaching during this closure, based on guidance from Governor Baker and the MA Commissioner of Education.

During this school closure period we will work to support our students and families so as to keep learning alive by encouraging intellectual curiosity promoted through the extended learning opportunities being shared through our Extended Learning website. Through our collaborative partnership between home and school, we hope that these learning opportunities will keep students interested and engaged while reducing the amount of time spent on video games during traditional school hours. By promoting active engagement coupled with routines and a schedule, we will enable a smoother transition upon our return to school.

Our students and families will continue to be supported by our dedicated faculty and staff through regular communication. Our educators have been asked to check their email multiple times a day so we can maintain direct communication and support during this closure period.

Please be advised that no new content will be presented to students during this three week closure as directed by DESE. During this time, students may complete assignments previously issued but should not be completing new assignments and teachers should not be expecting students to submit new work to be graded.

Below you will find a list of district sponsored websites that students have access to.  Please refer to ClassLink instructions for more information on how to sign in. We have also provided a list of additional resources that students might find enjoyable.
