Summer Credit Recovery Program

  • The Middleborough High School staff is excited to offer a summer enrichment and recovery program to students currently in grades 9-11. Student participants will be able to engage in a wide variety of elective courses, career and technical education courses for enrichment or to recover credit. Students will also be able to access core academic courses to recover credit and to sharpen skills prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year.  Lots of opportunities for credit recovery and enrichment are available in the areas of health, language arts, mathematics, science, social science/history, and world languages. The content will be grounded in the skills and topics within our curriculum frameworks aligned to the grade level(s) audience for each course.

Students who participate in the MHS Summer Splash Program will access this curriculum through Edmentum’s online learning platform in a face to face setting with licensed MHS faculty and staff.  Educators will serve as curriculum supervisors for learners in their content area, provide one on one support to students, as well as implement IEP strategies or accommodations where appropriate, and provide feedback and scoring to student work.

In addition to supporting student success within their enrichment/recovery curriculum, educators will engage with learners in daily social emotional learning activities, 21st century learning experiences, and dynamic non curricular enrichment activities guaranteed to keep your student engaged and motivated. Even better, participants will have lots of workshop options to choose from each day. Whether it’s learning interview skills, finding out all about banking/credit cards/and loans, joining a chess tournament, debating social issues, or solving puzzles and sudoku, there will be tons of valuable adventures in store for everyone.

Students are able to participate in either a full 5 hour program and have two credit recovery or enrichment classes or to select either our morning or afternoon session to participate in credit recovery or enrichment in one course. Breakfast and lunch will be available to all students each day at no cost*. See the program dates and times below. Also, consult the program daily schedule document and available courseware document to start getting excited about a summer filled with meaningful learning, character development, and skill building.
