We often focus on communicating orally throughout our day.
For example:
*We might chose story blocks or pictures and make up a story to share with a group of friends.
*We might use puppets to act out a social situation where the group would get involved in discussing problem solving techniques that the characters might use.
*We could listen to a story tape and share our favorite part.
*We also often engage in sharing our reading, writing or mathematic prowless with our peers in the "authors chair".
With these types of activities, we are practicing speaking in complete sentences,
using higher level vocabulary and getting used to presenting in front of an audience.
