Welcome to John T. Nichols Jr. Middle School!

The Nichols Middle School is named in honor of John "Tiger" Nichols, who served the school system for more than thirty years on the School Committee with many of those years as the Chairman.

Nichols accommodates 1,100 students grades 6, 7, & 8. Our school features a "village" metaphor through the use of a Main Street or main corridor with intersecting nodes or town squares.

We use the middle school concept of teaming for our students. The core subject teachers on a team are language arts, social studies, mathematics, math applications-grade six only, science and reading. We also offer our students classes in music, art, physical education, health, media, computer, band, chorus, and orchestra.

The building's organization offers many innovations and all classrooms, offices, our library media center, are all wired with access to the Internet and our Cable TV network.
